Our Mission:
The mission of the Gilded Leaf Company is to reintroduce the elegance of the gilded age by making various gilded architectural accents available in numerous sizes and styles from various architectural periods.

Our Philosophy:
The utmost care goes into the creation of each gilded and hand-painted element. It has been said that the angels on the cherub medallion are so life-like, they look like they could speak to you.
Gilding is a very labor intensive, time-honored tradition that requires meticulous attention to detail. There have been suggestions to speed-up the process using faux finishes or composition leaf for the sake of profitability, but we will not compromise quality for profits. Composition leaf, sometimes called composition gold or Dutch metal, consists of approximately 85% copper and 15% zinc and does NOT contain any gold. The use of composition leaf would be deceptive and is not acceptable, except as a specific request by a client. There is a very noticeable difference between real gold verses composition leaf and the composition leaf will tarnish (turn black as it oxidizes).

Our Staff:
Delbert T. (Tom) Newkirk, President: is at the North Las Vegas Manufacturing Center and has been in the construction business for over 25 years. His passion, however, has been with the fine arts and gilding since his first art class in college. His art studies include courses at the Center for Creative Studies College of Art and Design in Detroit MI and portraiture painting under professional artist Daniel Greene in his Salem, NY studio. Tom has been gilding ceiling medallions for several years.
Thomas J. Lier, CEO: is at the Corporate Headquarters and has a B.S. degree in Engineering from Purdue University. He has worked as an engineer / computer programmer for over 10 years. His original desire was to be an architect and has done architectural design for local builders. Tom's principle hobby and love of architecture has been his driving force in developing period correct architectural accents that rekindle the "Gilded Age".
The diverse background of these individuals was a natural catalyst to develop a business that is not only exciting but is reviving an old art form that will be enjoyed for generations to come.
